Supreme Court stained glass

To mark the building's centenary in 2013, the Supreme Court has produced a guide to the stained glass of the building.

Freely downloadable from this page, the illustrated full colour guide shows each of the heraldic and civic Coats of Arms represented in the stained glass of the former Middlesex Guildhall. Much of the glass was designed and installed ready for the building's original opening in December 1913, by Abbott and Co of Fleetwood, Lancaster - a firm still proudly producing stained glass products today.

The guide contains brief biographical details of each of the people represented in the glass, as well as detailed descriptions of the symbols included in the Coats of Arms.

We are grateful to Rupert Barnes of the Historic Counties Trust, and for reference material from the Dictionary of National Biography in particular, for their great assistance in helping us produce this guide.
